Definitions: Basic Needs include food, housing, and transportation. Expendable Income means you can afford things like coffee or tea at a shop, going to movies, buying new clothes, books, and similar items each month.

1. Do I need to do anything now as a current member?
No, current members do not need to take any action until your membership is up for renewal. When your current membership expires, we’ll send you an email with all the details you need to transition to the new Zeffy platform and choose your membership tier under the Green Bottle Membership Model.

2. When will I need to act?
You will receive an email about 4 weeks before your membership is set to expire. This email will guide you through the process of selecting your new membership tier and completing your renewal on the new platform.

3. Will I lose access to my membership or benefits during the transition?
No, your membership will remain active and you will continue to receive all benefits until your renewal date. The transition will happen automatically when your membership expires.

4. Will my payment information transfer automatically to the new platform?
No, your payment information will not transfer. When it’s time to renew, you’ll be prompted to update your payment details through Zeffy.

5. How do I know which membership tier to choose?
When your renewal time approaches, we will send you an email with a clear explanation of the Green Bottle Membership tiers and help guide you to the tier that works best for your financial situation.

6. Why is NACPM changing membership platforms?
NACPM is transitioning to Zeffy to save the organization $4,500 annually, which allows us to allocate more resources to advancing midwifery education and advocacy. Zeffy is a no-cost platform that offers improved functionality, including the ability for members to select flexible payment options, while still maintaining the same high level of service and access to NACPM resources.

7. What are the benefits of Zeffy compared to Wild Apricot (our old system)?
Zeffy provides several advantages over the previous platform:

• No-cost platform: It’s free to use, which means more funds for NACPM’s core work.

• More flexibility: Members can choose from a variety of membership tiers based on their financial situation.

• Real-time updates: Chapter leaders will have access to up-to-date member data.

• Recurring membership options: Members can set up recurring payments for convenience.

8. Will this change affect my membership fees or benefits?
The change itself does not directly affect your membership benefits. However, we are also rolling out the Green Bottle Membership Model, which introduces a sliding scale for membership fees based on your financial situation. This model ensures that membership is accessible to everyone while sustaining NACPM’s vital advocacy and leadership work.

9. Will I need to create a new account on Zeffy?
No, your membership information will automatically transfer to Zeffy. However, if you were previously on a recurring membership through the Wild Apricot platform, you will need to set that up again when your membership renews.

10. How do I access my account on the new platform?
There will not be a traditional login for members. Zeffy tracks membership and sends member-specific communications, including emails and discount codes. You can manage your membership through these communications.

11. Will my previous membership history be available on Zeffy?
Yes, NACPM staff will have access to your membership history. However, members won’t have direct access to past records through the Zeffy platform.

12. What happens if I forget my login credentials?
Since there is no traditional login system for members on Zeffy, there is no need to worry about forgetting credentials. You will receive membership-specific emails, and we can assist if you have any issues with your registration.

Payment and Billing

13. Will my payment information transfer automatically to Zeffy?
No, your payment information will not transfer. When you renew your membership, you will need to enter your payment details again.

14. How do I update my payment method on Zeffy?
You can update your payment information when you renew your membership or make any changes to your tier selection.

• Tier 5 (Full Fee): $350/year – For those comfortably able to meet all basic needs and can afford the full membership fee.

• Tier 4 (25% Discount): $262.50/year – For those who may experience some financial stress but are generally able to meet basic needs.

• Tier 3 (50% Discount): $175/year – For those who regularly meet basic needs but still face financial stress.

• Tier 2 (75% Discount): $87.50/year – For those facing significant financial hardship and who struggle to meet basic needs.

• Tier 1 (90% Discount): $35/year – For those facing substantial financial hardship who have limited financial resources.

This sliding scale system takes into account factors such as caregiving responsibilities, race, gender identity, and disability status, ensuring fairness and accessibility for everyone.

The transition will be completed by January 1, 2025. After this date, Zeffy will be the only platform for managing NACPM memberships.
