The Urban Perinatal Education Center (UPEC), in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), is launching the RI Certified Professional Midwifery (CPM) Equity Initiative to build a community-based midwifery workforce and improve perinatal outcomes in Rhode Island.
This initiative focuses on promoting culturally competent care, addressing disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black and BIPOC communities, and fostering a diverse midwifery workforce. In collaboration with the Commonsense School of Midwifery, the program offers a hybrid, rigorous 3-year clinical and academic training pathway supported by the HRSA Maternal Health Innovation grant.
Join this transformative effort to advance equity in midwifery and maternal health!
